If you've already tried to create a fancy TikTok username by copying a cool font you found from somewhere, you may have run into a problem: When you copy and paste some text, the font doesn't usually get copied along with the text. That's because the font is usually something that's specific to that webpage, and other websites may not have embedded that particular font, so it doesn't make sense to be able to copy the font itself across to the new webpage.

So how does this TikTok font generator actually work then? Well, ou might be surprised to learn that it's not actually generating fonts. Instead, what you're seeing are just sets of characters that happen to exist, but are not on your keyboard. There are actually many thousands of characters that exist, and that aren't on your keyboard. You already knew that though, right? Because people with foreign keyboards have foreign characters on them. But, like I said, there are thousands of characters, and some of them actually look a lot like the normal characters that you're reading right now. In fact, there are whole other sets of characters which exactly match the "Latin alphabet", and then there are sets of fancy characters that look a bit like the letters in the alphabet, and so we can use them to create "fake" fonts. You can't actually create a "fancy" username in TikTok, but you can create a fancy nickname using the fonts on this page, and you can also add fancy/special characters to your TikTok bio. You just need to copy across the fonts from this page into your nickname/bio area.

Why would you want to do this? Well, I guess it's useful if you're trying to stand out from the crowd a bit. There are literally billions of people competing with you to get their post to go viral, so it can't hurt to have a little helping hand in the form of a particularly aesthetic bio or display name, right?
